Mens Micros

|

Mico is a term used by HOM, the French underwear design manufactured under licence by Triumph International, to describe a style of men’s briefs and that is a traditional looking brief with a full back and close support. It has a cut away side and less coverage on the side than the closest alternative, which is the mini and would probably be closest to what many would regard as a slip.

The only draw back to the micro is that the rear panel does not always sit in place and you can sometimes end up with an unwanted wedgie and is one of the reasons some prefer the boxer brief, thong or g-string

Mens Minis

|

The mini is a style of HOM men’s briefs manufactured under licence by Triumph International and is similar to the micro brief, only with slightly more coverage at the sides. This style of men’s underwear offer deeper, fuller and broader side panels for extra coverage, whilst still retaining the traditional look of a men’s brief.

Mens Hipster

|

The hipster is another variation of the classic boxer brief by the French designer brand HOM, which is manufactured under licence by Triumph International and remains a popular style of designer underwear for men.

It is slightly smaller than the maxi as it has a square cut leg that extends approximately a fifth of the way down the leg, so slightly shorter than the maxi and the waistband only just sits on the hips.

These are a good choice for men who like the fits and support of the fuller boxer brief, such as the maxi, but are looking for something that will not be visible above the waistband of trousers and are also slightly cooler during intense activity due to less coverage in the leg, thus being a good choice for sport.

Mens G Strings

|

Just like men’s thongs, the g-string is one of the most popular styles of men’s underwear online and favoured by some because of there more minimalist look.

They are distinguished by a much narrow string, usually only about a ¼ of an inch wide and sometimes even as thin as a broad piece of string.

One of our most popular male g-strings is the infamous HOM Fredy String

Like the thong, they consist of an elasticated waistband with a fabric pouch at the front to cover and support the genitals, which then has a narrow string that passes between the legs and buttocks to connect to the waistband at the rear.

Often the waistband is much narrower, although this is not always the case, but can sometimes be of a string nature to provide an even skimpier look.

Dating back thousands of years and documented as being worn by men long before they became popular by women, it is thought they were preferred because of their functional and practical qualities, which seems to be why men like them so much now.

However, g-strings being worn by men still appears to be an unimaginable thought by some less liberally minded people and hence why men prefer to shop for them anonymously online and don’t flaunt the fact that they wear them.

Mens Midi

|

The midi is the smallest variation of the classic boxer brief and a style name adopted by the French designer brand HOM, which is manufactured under licence by Triumph International.

Like the hipster, these also sit on the hip, have a square cut leg, but are very short in the leg and can sometimes only have probable an inch or two of length. You need a very good physique for this style and are particularly popular because these are likely to be the coolest of all the boxer brief to wear and yet offer all the benefits of comfort and support that you gain from the maxi and hipster.

Mens Boxers & Boxer Briefs

|

Boxer briefs are a descendent of the boxer shorts as they are long in the leg, but have a much closer fit like an actual brief, hence their name and are a compromise between the two.

Whilst boxer briefs are possibly one of the most popular styles of men’s underwear, there individual styles can vary and consequently they have acquired a variety of descriptive names amongst different manufacturers. Such descriptions include mid length briefs, maxi and hipster.

One reason boxer briefs are such a popular style of male underwear is because they offer a line free look under fitted clothes due to being long in the leg, which would otherwise only be achieved with a thong or g-string, and yet they also offer considerable support and control because of their fitted nature.

These are a popular choice for men who are looking for support and control during sport and are even more appealing than ever because of the latest innovations in technical micro fibres that offer thermal and cooling properties, which absorb and wick moisture away from the skin and use anti bacterial fabrics.

The fit can vary across manufacturers, with some fitting like a second skin and others having a much looser fit. The fit in the pouch can also vary, with different manufacturers employing new methods to offer contouring features and that promote enhanced comfort and support with central and side seaming.

Mens Briefs

|

Briefs are a traditional style of men’s underwear and have probably been the most widely manufactured style of underwear during the past century or so. However, their popularity has slipped and they have given way to the more fashionable style of boxer briefs, although, they do appear to be experiencing a bit of a retro revival.

This style has a full fitting back and pouch front with side panels of varying depths. Some are very minimalist, with only a very narrow side to them and yet others have very deep sides that offer more coverage and a fuller fit.

The brief has also come to be known by other terms, such as a slip and also as a micro or mini, which are descriptive names used by the French designer underwear brand HOM, which is manufactured under licence by Triumph International
