HOM also use hipsters and midi as alternative descriptors for their varying range of boxer briefs and of them all, the maxi is the fullest fitting style of them all in the range of male underwear that would be regarded as a boxer brief.

Fitted trunks are by far one of the most popular styles for mens underwear and seem set to be the preferred choice of underwear, which was perhaps once held by loose fitting boxer shorts.
There seems to be three basic styles of fitted mens trunks, which are the classic trunk, hipster, and midi. These differ according to where they sit on the waist or hip and the leg length.
Overall, trunks offer a seem free look and because of their close fit they also offer very good support and control in the pouch, which is possibly why they are so popular with men.
Classic trunk – starting with the classic trunk, which is also sometimes known as a maxi, these have the fullest fit of all the styles and is a close fitting style of mens underwear. They have a square cut leg, which is the longest in the leg out of all the styles and generally sit above the hip on the waist.
Hipster – a popular style in mens underwear as they sit lower on the hip and are a good choice for low waist trousers as they still offer the seem free look, with maximum support because of their close fit. Again, they have a square cut leg, which is generally slightly shorter than the classic trunk and yet still retaining a traditional trunk style.
Midi Trunk – this style of mens underwear is the tiniest of the fitted trunks, offering the closest of fits and minimalist of looks. They sit on the hip and has short square cut legs that are cut quite high and can leave minimal coverage at the rear. Men’s underwear can not get any smaller than this as a trunk.
