The maxi is one variation of the classic boxer brief and a descriptive name adopted by the French designer brand HOM, which is manufactured under licence by Triumph International
HOM also use hipsters and midi as alternative descriptors for their varying range of boxer briefs and of them all, the maxi is the fullest fitting style of them all in the range of male underwear that would be regarded as a boxer brief.
The maxi has a long square cut fitted leg that extends approximately a quarter of the way down the thigh and an elasticated waistband that sits just above the hip.

Boxer briefs are a descendent of the boxer shorts as they are long in the leg, but have a much closer fit like an actual brief, hence their name and are a compromise between the two.
